Woodworking is more than just making cool stuff out of wood -- it’s the combination of engaging the mind in creative problem solving while working with your hands using real tools. Whatever it is, we firmly believe that learning basic woodworking skills opens up a whole world of making, fixing, creating and crafting that will last a lifetime.
But really, sometimes woodworking is just all about the thrill of using noisy power tools and shooting wood chips all over the place!!!
In this class, students will learn how to safely use various hand tools and power tools to cut and shape wood. In order to make their projects, students investigate useful joining and woodworking techniques. We provide hearing protection and dust masks, but be aware that this can be a noisy and dusty class!
