Design it, 3D print it & take it home!
If you can imagine it, we can design it and 3D print it! Our series of 3D Printing & Design classes start with a focus on how to design in 3D before moving on to more technical challenges like designing moving parts, printing in materials like wood or rubber, and how to run the 3D printers themselves. Students design and take home their first custom creation after their very first class!

Got questions? We have answers!
DO STUDENTS GET TO TAKE HOME THEIR DESIGNS?
Yes! Our students are so creative — its a pleasure to see their designs come to life using our 3D printers! Students even design a custom creation during their very first class that we print and get to them at the next class. In addition to fun projects, we give plenty of class time for students to be creative and design whatever they can imagine. We believe the best way to learn is by giving students the freedom to explore and create objects that they are interested in.
WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU PRINT WITH?
The majority of our 3D prints are made from a plastic called PLA — it’s durable, comes in a variety of colors, is derived from corn and is biodegradable. In our Pro level classes, we start to explore other materials, like PET-G, Nylon, flexible filaments, wood-impregnated filaments and more.
DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE ‘3D PRINTING EXPLORATION’ BEFORE ‘3D DESIGN STUDIO’?
In general, yes. 3D Printing Exploration teaches students the fundamentals of how to design using 3D modeling software. However, we know that some students already have some 3D printing experience. If that sounds like you, please contact us and let’s chat!
WHAT 3D SOFTWARE DO YOU USE?
In our entry-level 3D printing programs, students use Tinkercad — a wonderful app from AutoDesk that is hands down the easiest 3D modeling software we’ve ever used. With 30 minutes of training students are able to easily create their own objects to 3D print. For our Pro level classes, we use more sophisticated software packages like 123Design, SketchUp, Meshmixer and more as student’s projects progress in complexity.
HOW LARGE ARE THE CLASSES?
Like almost all our classes, our 3D Printing classes have maximum class size of 10.
WHAT IF I HAVE A QUESTION YOU DIDN’T ANSWER? YOU PROMISED ANSWERS!
We probably didn’t think of everything here. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
